Recently we received a phone call from Julian Ribinik Photography based in NYC. They didn’t have any experience shooting Southeast Asian or Indian/Pakistani weddings and were interested in our ideas. We were thrilled they called us!
Fortunately, we’ve had the chance to plan Indian weddings and could offer help to Julian’s team. Indian weddings are amazing experiences to be a part of. Besides the ceremony and reception traditions being one of a kind, every component of these weddings features incredible color and opens the door to a ton of creativity.
To help them become familiar with Indian traditions, we recommended a style shoot where they could learn about everything from color themes to henna tattoos to ceremonial mandaps and dolis.
After gauging interest from other companies in our area, we had put together a fun team of vendors who could each provide something unique for the style shoot. The result was a two-day shoot featuring three beautiful wedding dresses, a 30-pound pink lehenga (long Indian skirt) studded with Swarovski crystal, incredible henna tattoos and an amazing array of flowers. We were even published in Maharani Weddings! What an exciting day to be a part of.
